“Friends help you move. Real friends help you move bodies.”
I consider myself fortunate to have real friends. No, I haven’t needed any bodies moved lately (though the day is young.)
Even though I have a lot of online connections/acquaintances/colleagues I only have a few real friends online.
What’s the real definition? Reciprocity.
Real friends:
- actually know you and you know them
- take your phone calls and you take theirs
- refer you to other people and you refer other people to them
- help you out and you’re happy to do the same
Now, I think it’s okay to have real friends and online acquaintances I call Facebook friends. I just think we should know what the difference is.
Especially if you need a body moved.
Yep. Perceptive observation. Hadn’t quite thought about term “friends” as having subcategories these days. I know what you mean.
Truth!
