Oftentimes the objects we hold onto contain cryptic clues that point towards something deeper about ourselves. Take a look around your house (or your room) at the things with which you have surrounded yourself. Is there anything you are still hanging onto that seems to contain a hidden message for you? What do you think it is?
A quotefor the day from Tina –
“I start up the engine and plug my cell phone into the charger. I dial my parents’ number. My father answers on the first ring.
“Hi Dad,” I say. “This is Tina. Do you have a few minutes to talk?”
“No,” he says. “Not really.”
I begin anyway. “You know, Dad, I haven’t spoken from my heart since … well, maybe ever. I’ve always been afraid to. But after this last trip to New York for the wedding, I see so clearly all the pain that has been caused. It’s like you and I have been at war for as long as I can remember. No one even knows how it started. I want to find a way to end it.”
“Well, you should have thought about that before you wrote The Letter.”
